With the Palm Extrem women's life jacket, Palm has designed a whitewater life jacket specifically for women. It has the same safety features as the
Extrem men's life jacket – just with a women's-specific cut.
The Palm Extreme is extremely comfortable to put on thanks to its front entry, and the four buckles are easy to open even with cold fingers. The vest has three pockets, keeping safety equipment readily accessible.
In 2020,
Palm gave the life jacket a significant update, bringing it up to the latest safety standards. The buckles on the shoulder and chest straps are now made of aluminum. The O-ring on the back is considerably thicker, allowing the safety belt to slide through much more reliably. The zipper on the front pocket is now larger, providing easier access to essentials. The entire pocket is also slightly larger, offering enough space for a smartphone and energy bars. The life jacket is equipped with the new "UCLan" chest strap. The idea behind this design is to separate the chest strap adjustment mechanism from the panic release mechanism. This means that only about 2 cm of the strap protrudes, ensuring a very reliable deployment.
