HF Tuppa hatch cover – the right choice for transporting kayaks on the car roof. A tightly stretched neoprene hatch cover reduces fuel consumption when transporting kayaks on the car and prevents luggage from flying off. To ensure the hatch cover performs its function even at high speeds, HF uses the same robust multi-stretch neoprene and the same elastic band as in their whitewater spray decks. Lighter equipment such as helmets can thus be transported safely inside the boat. Of course, the Tuppa is also suitable for covering the hatch during storage: This keeps the inside of the kayak dry and clean at all times.
HF has included one small detail that shouldn't be needed at all if the application is correct: Where the back strap is located, the Tuppa hatch cover has a strap loop with a buckle. You place this strap around the back strap, close the buckle first, and then the hatch cover. Even if someone hasn't closed the hatch cover properly, it can't get lost because the tether secures it to the kayak's back strap.
