The HF Swifty throw bag belt carries your throw bag, and the gear loops provide space for carabiners, pulleys, etc. The throw bag can be released from either side, while the Swifty stays on your body. In an emergency, the Swifty can be ditched by opening the 50 mm buckle.
The Swifty can be mounted on all °hf throw bags with system loops (
Compact Alpin,
Compact Syntec,
Weasel).
Why carry the throw bag on your body? Here are some arguments in brief:
- Always with you, even when scouting, after losing your boat, or after a swim
- Hands free when climbing or providing assistance
- Extended rescue options (e.g. behind waterfalls or in pin situations)
- On the raft: Ready for action faster
- Rescue services: always within reach, hands free
- When carrying your boat, less weight on your shoulder
- When the throw bag is carried under the spray skirt at the front, it stays drier and therefore lighter for longer
Using this rescue device must be practised regularly. For example, you could set yourself the challenge of throwing the throw bag twice with precision at the start of every paddling trip. For more essential safety input, check out our
