The HF Compact Classic throw bag has been a standard piece of equipment in canoeing for over 20 years. Made of robust nylon, the bag features an extra-wide opening, making it particularly easy to fill. It closes with a snap fastener. A foam float is integrated into the bottom of the throw bag, ensuring it always stays afloat. The striking red and yellow color combination makes the HF Compact Classic highly visible, so even laypeople can immediately recognize it as a rescue device.
As a kayaking school, we recommend removing the plastic sleeve around the bottom loop before using the rope for kayaking. Firstly, it prevents the rope from drying properly. Secondly – and we consider this particularly important – the loop is relatively large. This means that smaller hands can slip through it, potentially leading to dangerous situations. Therefore, it's necessary to make the loop smaller. Following the "clean line principle," we also recommend removing the loop and the plastic sleeve from the end of the rope. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at +43 512 546710.
The use of this rescue device must be practiced regularly. For example, you could challenge yourself to accurately throw the throw bag twice at the beginning of each canoe trip. For even more important information, why not attend our
Safety Course? For extreme applications involving the construction of pulley systems or rappelling, we recommend the
HF Compact Alpin or the
HF Compact Syntec throw bag . The HF Compact Classic is not suitable for these purposes.
