The HF Swifty throw bag belt carries the throw bag, and the gear loops provide space for carabiners, pulleys, etc. The throw bag can be detached from either side, while the Swifty remains attached to the body. In an emergency, the Swifty can be jettisoned by opening the 50mm buckle.
The Swifty can be mounted on all °hf throw bags with system loops (
Compact-Alpin ,
Compact-Syntec ,
Weasel ).
Why carry the throw bag on your body? Here are some key arguments:
- Always present, even during inspections, after boat loss or after a swimmer
- Hands free for climbing or providing assistance
- Expanded rescue options (e.g. behind a waterfall or in case of a pinned arm)
- On the raft: Ready for use more quickly
- Emergency services: always at hand, hands free
- When carrying a boat, less weight rests on the shoulder.
- If the throw bag is worn at the front under the spray deck, it stays drier for longer and is therefore lighter.
The use of this rescue device must be practiced regularly. For example, you could challenge yourself to accurately throw the throw bag twice at the beginning of each canoe trip. For even more important information, why not attend our
