The Waka Stoke is fast, manoeuvrable, and incredibly playful and intuitive to paddle. The idea of combining the handling characteristics of the Puffy Steeze with the agility and outstanding creeking properties of the Waka OG has been fully realised.
At first glance, you can spot many similarities between the Stoke and the Puffy Steeze — the boats are almost the same length, for example. But look closer and you'll notice that the hull around the knee area is slimmer on the Stoke, making the kayak feel far less bulky. Smaller and lighter paddlers in particular will appreciate this, as they often caught their paddle or hands on the Puffy Steeze's deck. After extensive testing by paddlers of different skill levels, we'd put the ideal weight for the Stoke between 55 and 90 kg. Our lightest tester was 50 kg; our heaviest was 120 kg.
When describing the handling, we get a bit carried away: the boat is genuinely a lot of fun. It's fast yet manoeuvrable. The famous "Waka skip" has been perfected in the Stoke — no Waka boat skips further. And of course, it's a true boofing machine.
In direct comparison with the OG, the Stoke is noticeably faster and feels much more "sporty". At 274 cm, it is a fair bit longer. Around the cockpit area, the Stoke is much less bulky. Paddlers who felt a bit lost in the OG should definitely try the Stoke!
