The Hiko Calypso Air4.X is a robust drysuit for whitewater use. Its double chimney makes it particularly suitable for whitewater kayaking. The cut is women-specific and allows for excellent freedom of movement.
The materials used are durable and robust. The majority of the suit is made of Air4 material. This four-layer membrane fabric has a water column rating of 25,000 mm and a breathability rating of 5,000 g/m²/24h. High-wear areas such as the elbows, seat, and knees are additionally reinforced with abrasion-resistant Cordura® 4L material.
Entry to this suit is via a TIZIP® zipper at the shoulder blades. It might feel a little unusual at first, but once you're on the river, you'll have much bigger worries and won't even notice it anymore, I promise! :-) The drysuit also has a TIZIP® zipper at the seat. This makes it easy to use the restroom without having to remove all your paddling gear.
The waist width can be easily adjusted with two Velcro closures on the left and right. These are designed so that when you put the garment on, the material is tightened both at the back and in the front – for a perfect fit! The leg openings can also be tightened with Velcro, so you're less likely to trip over your feet.
The suit features latex cuffs at the neck and wrists. To protect these from the sun, additional e.prene cuffs are worn over them. The suit has booties made of robust Cordura® 4L material. While these are durable, we still recommend wearing thin neoprene socks (e.g.,
Sandiline Skin05 neoprene socks ) over them.
