Ever tried finding a really warm fleece shirt suitable for kayaking in a regular sports store? It's pretty difficult! Almost everything you find has all sorts of unnecessary features: various zippers, pockets, or hoods. None of which you'd want to wear under a dry jacket. That's why we've had this shirt in our product range since January 2020.
The
Polartec Powerstretch Pro Longsleeve is another masterpiece from
Sandiline , designed specifically for paddling. It fits snugly against the body, providing exceptional warmth. The material is smooth on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. Fleece fibers also wick moisture away from the body. A high stretch content ensures complete freedom of movement. The slightly higher collar means the latex cuff doesn't touch the skin until higher up the neck. The inset zipper is intentionally placed away from the collar to prevent any scratching. The shirt is cut longer in the back to cover the entire back, even when seated.
We're constantly impressed by how well this shirt wicks moisture away from the body. Even after paddling, the outside might be slightly damp, but the inside remains perfectly dry and warm. And if it does get really wet, it dries very quickly.
This shirt is perfect for wearing under a dry jacket because it doesn't absorb moisture. But of course, it also works well under a drysuit when combined with
merino or fleece pants. We recommend it for cold temperatures and for people who tend to get cold on longer paddling trips. When choosing the right clothing, it's not just the air temperature but especially the water temperature that should be considered. And this is usually rather cold, at least in our latitudes.
