The Palm Extrem men's life jacket is Palm's high-end life jacket for challenging whitewater. The Extrem boasts all essential safety features and a well-thought-out design. The
failsafe shoulder straps, tested to 3.2 kN , are guaranteed to hold in an emergency and
extend completely through the front and back panels to the waist belt. A chest strap with a quick-release buckle is also standard. The life jacket also features four pockets, keeping safety equipment readily accessible. Four adjustable straps allow for a perfect fit , ensuring the Extrem stays securely in place. The Palm Extrem is easy to put on thanks to its front entry design, and the four buckles are easy to open even with cold fingers. In 2020,
Palm gave the life jacket a significant update, bringing it up to the latest safety standards. The buckles on the shoulder and chest straps are now made of aluminum. The O-ring on the back is considerably thicker, allowing the safety belt to slide through much more reliably. The zipper on the front pocket is now larger, providing easier access to essentials. The entire pocket is also slightly larger, offering ample space for a smartphone and energy bars. The life jacket features the new "UCLan" chest strap. The idea behind this design is to separate the chest strap adjustment mechanism from the panic release mechanism. This means that only about 2 cm of the strap protrudes, ensuring a very reliable deployment.
