Boofing, undercutting, kickflips, surfing, and still paddling Class 4-5 whitewater – the new DragoRossi Kush makes it all possible. We tested the boat and we'll tell you what we found out here.

We can't put it any other way: the Kush boofs pretty awesomely. It skips on landing, but not as vertically upwards as, for example, the Waka
Steeze ; instead, it simply glides over the wave during the forward motion. After the boof, it loses a bit of speed. So you should plan on one or two more paddle strokes to get the boat back up to speed. It accelerates well; it only takes two or three strokes to quickly glide through the waves and rollers again.

The Kush's shallow stern is noticeable on Class IV-V whitewater. Nevertheless, taking the boat into these conditions is absolutely no problem. Compared to other river runners, it's relatively easy to undercut and stabilize at the stern. The bow rises nicely out of the water, and the stern is easy to control.
Changes of direction and edges
Compared to other river runners, the Kush, at 269 cm in length, is a bit shorter. This is especially noticeable when performing kickflips and boofing into waves: the boat generates a lot of airtime. The hull is also pretty cool: the bow is quite rounded, while the tail features pronounced rails. This is great because it prevents the bow from getting caught in the current. You can really position the rounded bow nicely against cross currents and then push in the tail rail. Thanks to the rails and the hull design, the Kush gains significantly in maneuverability. It's extremely precise to control and practically begs you to try out completely new lines on your local river. Its surfing performance in waves is outstanding. Even if you're a bit shorter and lighter, the boat responds very well to weight shifts. All in all, it's a fantastic boat for downriver freestyle – both in big water and on technical streams where you need to navigate narrow sections with precision.
