Waka GOAT
With the GOAT, Waka Kayaks brings a highly playful, agile and versatile whitewater kayak to market. Designed as a smaller version of the Steeze, this river runner stands for maximum fun on the water and serious whitewater capability. Boofs, spins and stern squirts — no problem for the GOAT! It remains easy to control throughout and delights — thanks to its flat hull and defined edges — with very precise handling.
Compared to other kayaks in the Waka fleet, the GOAT is narrower, less bulky and was specifically designed for the needs of lighter paddlers. With a recommended body weight of 45–90 kg, the GOAT appeals not only to light and small kayakers but also covers a very wide weight and size range. At a body weight between 65 and 70 kg, the GOAT puts virtually no limits on you. It can be paddled very controlledly and safely in the heaviest whitewater. The closer your weight gets to the 90 kg threshold, the more aggressive the handling becomes.
The two new Waka flagships have only just come out of the rotational mould and we're looking forward to every new day with them. We'll report on all adventures with the little goat and the billy goat right away — especially whether they live up to their name: playful, tough and all-terrain. Our Opinion on the Waka GOAT
We've already extensively tested the GOAT and are extremely impressed. Particularly striking during testing was that these are the first kayaks that fitted Marieke (and even little Anne!) straight away. And that means something, because until now there was always gluing and tinkering before either of them had enough contact with the hull to form an opinion about a kayak. The GOAT has since become Bernie's boat of choice when he simply wants to play his way down a river. For little Anne at her fighting weight of barely 55 kg, the GOAT is a reliable and manoeuvrable whitewater boat that still has enough safety reserves.
What Waka Kayaks Says About the GOAT
Waka Kayaks is pleased to present our newest water toy. The GOAT is the little brother of the Steeze and is aimed at smaller paddlers who want a stern they can play with but also take on serious whitewater runs. We gave the GOAT a wide weight range so that paddlers over 80 kg who want a super playful stern but don't necessarily want to run the Stikine with it can also get along with it. The GOAT has the same basic hull design as the OG and the Steeze, enabling easy direction changes at high speed, unmatched skipping over holes and drops, wave surfing and flat spins, and cool carving!
