With the
SurfEars Junior 2.0, children can also protect their ear canals from excessive water contact. This minimises the risk of so-called "surfer's ear" — bony growths in the ear canals. Unlike, for example, the
ThreeWaves ear plugs, the SurfEars Junior are designed with a membrane. This lets sound waves through while keeping water out. We think this is genius, because you can still communicate.
To fit as many different children's ears as possible, the package includes seal tips in two different sizes. These have fins, so you can even determine how deep they should sit in the ear. The left ear is shaped slightly differently from the right? No problem — the left and right sides can be configured completely independently.
FAQ
What exactly is surfer's ear and how do you get it?
Surfer's ear refers to bony growths in the ear canal. It's caused by regular contact with cold water in combination with wind. Mainly at risk are the ears of surfers, but unfortunately the problem is also widespread among kayakers.
What's the problem with these bony growths?
The problem is that the narrowing of the ear canals means water can no longer drain as well. This can lead to painful ear infections. In later stages, it also affects hearing.
SurfEars are of course also available
for adults!
