With the DRS, DragoRossi has launched a fast, agile, and modern creek boat for smaller and lighter paddlers. At 273 cm, the boat is quite long and therefore incredibly fast. So fast, in fact, that Kilian Ivelic immediately set a new speed record in the Lofer Gorge with it. For its length, the DRS is relatively narrow. Thanks to its pronounced rocker and the slightly less pronounced front edge, the boat still handles changes of direction well. We were also impressed by its boofing capabilities. The boat skips effortlessly over waves and drops, thanks in part to its speed.
Another change compared to the
DrX is the new seat construction. Like the Waka, it's now a single piece. This allowed for a further reduction in weight. At 20.5 kg, the DRS is now easy to maneuver even for lighter individuals. And something that will be especially welcome for those with slender thighs: the thigh braces are positioned quite far inwards. This provides them with excellent support and control over the boat. Those with thicker thighs may wish to shorten the thigh braces to suit their individual needs.
We would estimate the ideal passenger weight for the boat to be 50-75 kg.
