We dare say: the Stoke is the best kayak Waka has ever built! Because: the Stoke is fast, agile, and very playful and intuitive to paddle. The idea of combining the handling characteristics of the
Puffy Steeze with the maneuverability and excellent creeking capabilities of the
Waka OG in this whitewater kayak has been a complete success.
At first glance, you can see many similarities between the Stoke and the Puffy Steeze. For example, the boats are almost the same length. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes particularly noticeable that the hull of the Stoke is slimmer in the knee area, making the kayak appear significantly less bulky. This will be especially appreciated by smaller and lighter paddlers who often found their paddle or hands brushing against the bow of the Puffy Steeze. After numerous tests by paddlers of varying skill levels, we would estimate the ideal weight for the Stoke to be between 55 kg and 100 kg. Our lightest tester weighed 50 kg, and our heaviest weighed 120 kg. And so far, they have all been thrilled.
We get a little carried away when describing its handling characteristics: this boat is truly a lot of fun. It's fast, yet agile. The famous "Waka skip" has definitely been perfected by the Stoke. No other Waka boat skips further than it. And of course, it's a true boofing machine.
In direct comparison to the OG, the most noticeable difference is that the Stoke is significantly faster and feels much more "sporty." At 274 cm, it's also considerably longer. The cockpit area of the Stoke is noticeably less bulky. Paddlers who felt a bit lost in the OG should definitely try the Stoke!
