The Waka OG is a full-on creeker with extreme rocker, pronounced rails, and plenty of volume. Despite its size—especially its considerable width—the OG is surprisingly easy to ride, even for smaller and lighter riders, and doesn't feel bulky. It turns extremely quickly and runs drier than any other creeker. Seriously, you have to really try hard to get the nose of the OG to dip and get properly wet!
Bernie has been using the OG regularly since October 2017, testing it primarily on the Wellerbrücke bridge and the lower section of the Ötztaler Ache rapids. His conclusion: with this kayak, even challenging whitewater feels a degree easier after a short familiarization period. The OG gives you time. The OG was designed with the sole aim of creating a kayak that inspires confidence, keeps you dry and aloft, and looks great while doing it. To achieve this, we turned to what many consider the best kayak of all time: the Tuna 1. We added more rocker and some sexy lines, while trying to incorporate some of the best features of the Tuna 2.
We never wanted this boat to be super fast, we just wanted paddlers to scout the wave and say, "Even if I miss my boof, the OG will get me through."
