The Hiko Paladin Air4.X men's dry jacket is the current top-of-the-line dry jacket from the traditional Czech company. Aside from its almost unbeatable price-performance ratio, it also boasts many attractive and well-designed details.
As is typical for dry jackets, this jacket also features latex cuffs at the wrists and neck. Above these, the jacket has an additional neoprene cuff. The neoprene not only protects the latex from UV radiation but also warms the wrists and forearms. The jacket's sleeves are relatively slim-cut, which is a real advantage because it prevents bulky material from bunching up on the arms. At the high-wear areas of the forearms and elbows, the jacket has panels made of abrasion- and tear-resistant CORDURA®.
We also appreciate the narrow rubberized lining of the inner hip gusset. This prevents the jacket from riding up easily. Two Velcro closures allow for a perfect fit around the waist. Additionally, the jacket features small reflective strips on the upper arms, which remain visible even when wearing a life jacket.
The special cut of the shoulders allows for complete freedom of movement in all directions. The AirFour light material used, although a 4-layer fabric, is very light and flexible.
We particularly like the Velcro closure, which allows you to tighten the jacket around the stomach. It's sewn all the way around, meaning that the pull on the strap is evenly distributed across the entire jacket.
