EXO, or rather
GuiGui prod., has pulled off a real coup with the Helixir. The famous carbon freestyle kayak now available in a PE version at an affordable price – a fantastic idea, in our opinion. The Helixir is a modern play boat that leaves nothing to be desired for today's freestyle paddler. All new-school moves are effortless (or even easier). It's easy to loop and cartwheel. Daniel, who also owns the carbon version, is equally enthusiastic about the plastic one. The advantages are obvious: it's cheaper and more durable against rocks. And since summer 2019, the boat has finally been available in sizes S and XS for smaller and lighter paddlers! Unfortunately, there's currently no Helixir XL for very tall people. However, those over 185 cm (6'1") could opt for the
EXO Xg .
What we also love about the Helixir is its features. Like all EXO boats, the seat can be moved forwards and backwards. This is something you should definitely try out on any boat to find the ideal seating position. We would therefore strongly recommend that paddlers who are on the smaller end of the height and weight range try a more forward seat position. This is especially important in freestyle paddling, where weight shifting is crucial. The backrest can be adjusted continuously using a cable system.
EXO includes a quarter-circle piece of foam as a footrest. This might not be for everyone, but we're happy to help you adjust your boat to fit you perfectly.
In terms of hatch size, a Keyhole spray deck would be rather tight on the Helixir L. In that case, we would recommend the Bighole spray deck instead.
We have the Helixir in stock in several colors and sizes. If you'd like to order a specific color combination, that's certainly possible. The standard colors are: red, yellow, green, blue, orange, pink, and black. These can also be combined in any way you like. Please understand that we need to check the delivery time for custom orders.
